With the many choices for a bun to spend his or her money on, it’s hard to know which toy will be great, which treat will be delectable and which brush will really work. That’s why I’ve completed the top essential items all rabbits should have!
1. The Best Bunny Brush
Thanks to our friends at the Bunny Bunch Boutique, I now have a proper brush that combs out fur I didn’t even know existed! I bought mine with the grooming kit for $25, but the brush itself is $9. Check it out here.
2. The Cottontail Cottage
I spent many afternoons napping the day away in this delightful hideaway! It’s fun to chew, and light enough for re-decorators to move around! Cats, Rabbits and More sells it for $16.99. My human was able to assemble it quickly, which was an added bonus. Check it out here.
3. Trio of Flower Sticks
Every rabbit deserves flowers—but I prefer the ones made out of twigs! Head on over to the Busy Bunny and this unpeeled willow bouquet will satisfy your late-night cravings. My human bought me the cheaper version ($8.95) but you can get a larger one for $17.95. Check it out here.
4. Bag O’ Baskets
I’m going to linger at the Busy Bunny for a while longer because I absolutely adore their basket package. I’m not big into peeled willow, but I still like these baskets. For $8.95, you can get at least 6 months worth out of all these baskets. (I still have pieces laying around my condo!) Check it out here.
5. Sweet Meadow Banana Chips
For all buns with a sweet tooth… you must try Sweet Meadow Farm’s Banana Chips! ($2.79) They are out of this world. And while you are there, try their papaya and fruit mix too! I think I’m going to break out my bag now… Check it out here.
6. Oxbow Oat Hay
Let’s face it. Hay is a necessary part of our diet. So why not spoil ourselves rotten sometimes and chow down on Oat Hay from Oxbow? I like to get the biggest bag available, but you can try out a small bag (15 oz) for $4.25. Yum! Check it out here.
7. Unpeeled Willow Ball
8. Heart Balsa Buddy
Now I want to hear from you! What are your favorite toys? Chews? Snacks?
I was lounging around this weekend just thinking about the rabbits mom told me she saw at Petco. Does anyone know what happens to these rabbits when they do not sell? The two (supposedly neutered) boys have been there since a little after Easter. We know adoption is the first option… but we’re worried about what may happen to these two boys. We’re worried about all the socialization they may be missing out on. I’m not entirely sure I’m ready to share my space with two more rabbits… and we have housing issues with our building, so more buns may not be an option. But I’m all conflicted and sad.
The other day, mom borrowed several costumes from a coworker. One was of a jail hat. So, mom came over, offered me some treats. I happily took part in that. And then I saw that hideous hat. I mean… it was TERRIBLE! A little black and white striped hat with ear holes! Was she kidding!? The nerve! So I showed my immediate disapproval with a loud, menacing *THUMP!* She jumped back, still holding the hat. Perhaps she did not understand me the first time! *THUMP!* again!”Fine,” she said. “No hat.” She got up to leave. I thumped four more times to show my anger. Then I raced under my wicker tent.
I was putting a stop to this ridiculous holiday, once and for all!
We didn’t talk for an hour. I stayed under my tent. The nerve. If she wants to dress me up, it better be something pretty. Like a princess. Or a wizard. Or better yet, a goddess. But a bunny in jail!? Hmrpf!
Dad asked what was going on.
“We’re fighting,” mom said.
“Oh…” He looked very confused.
After about an hour, I came out to get some food. Mom came over and I stared her down.
“You have to put up with me,” she said. “I clean out your litterbox everyday. I make sure you have fresh hay, veggies, pellets, toys, and more. All I ask is that sometimes you humor me.”
I kept staring. She looked sad. I guess I really hurt her feelings.
So I flopped. That was as much of an apology that woman was going to get out of me!
Luckily, it worked. I forgave her, and she forgave me. We shared nose rubs and the world was right again.
And luckily, there has been no talk of that wicked hat returning!
However, I couldn’t prevent her from creating this:
I was going through my photo album this weekend and recalled a very fond memory of my banana chip delivery at the beginning of the summer! I am still trying to polish off all the wonderful bunny treats that arrived in that shipment! If I had my way, I’d eat a bag a day, but mom hides them on me.
Yum! So delicious! Maybe I’ll snag a few now…
It’s so hot in our apartment. The landlord flipped the switch so now our vents pump out heat instead of air conditioning. I’ve got my fan on constantly and I’ve been laying on my tile to try and keep cool. The window is open but the breeze doesn’t really come in on our side of the apartment. Mom gave me an ice pack last night to cuddle with, but I was so disagreeable that I decided to throw it down the stairs of my condo instead. This morning was slightly better– I came out and did some binkies before mom went off to work. What I need is a good breeze…
There are new Halloween items up in the store! (I’m a little sick of the witch hat, though.) My thoughts? Am I supposed to be amused?
Lola really enjoys her condo. She hardly comes out anymore. She’s even moved her wicker tent inside!
“What are you doing down there?”
I love kisses. I love when my human kisses my forehead, or my big floppy ears. If I’m feeling affectionate, I’ll give a nose bump back.
Here is one of my extra photos from the pumpkin photo shoot. I’m still not happy with the results, so after I dine this evening perhaps we will try again. The woman still has not brought home a larger pumpkin! Maybe tonight she will…
Anyways, I’ve marked all the pumpkins as mine–as you can see in this photo. I wanted to take a nibble as well but mom was afraid pumpkin stems were not good for me. So she yanked it away! *Thump!*
